Dr. Cowen’s vision and passion to provide superior care to the doctors and people of Kentucky out of a desire to serve and to educate is one of the reasons he decided to go into private practice in 2000.  Outside of his service to Kentuckians, Dr. Cowen has served on mission trips in third world countries taking his service to the people. Dr. Cowen also provides service by participating with Surgery on Sundays, a non-profit organization that provides free outpatient surgical services to income eligible individuals and families who do not have health insurance and are not eligible for federal or state assistance.
